Million Meals Plus Pack Event, Lake County
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Libertyville is teaming up with other Lake County organizations and Feed My Starving Children to package and distribute up to two million meals formulated specially for starving children around the world. The event, to be hosted at the Lake County Fairgrounds on December 2, 3, and 4, provides a unique volunteer experience for thousands of volunteers to organize and package these meals to be shipped across the globe. Our goal this year is to raise sufficient funds to subsidize the cost of the food and materials necessary to pack and ship as many as 800,000 meals. Feed My Starving Children
Feed My Starving Children, FMSC, is a Christian non-profit group tirelessly striving to feed
God's starving children, who suffer from malnutrition and are hungry in both body and spirit.

The group’s approach is simple: Volunteers age 8 and older hand-pack meals created specially
for starving children, and FMSC ships the meals to more than 60 countries around the world.
In December of 2003, FMSC’s Board of Directors voted to rededicate the organization to Christ. Since that moment, FMSC’s growth has been virtually exponential. In 2003 FMSC produced 3 million meals with one packing site and 17,000 volunteers. By 2010 FMSC produced over 124 million meals with 6 permanent packing sites, and a nationwide MobilePackTM program, and more than 515,000 volunteers.
